Is there accessible parking?

A number of accessible car spaces are available outside the Venue. Patrons parking in access bays must have a valid parking permit and show the permit in their car.

If you are booking tickets for guests requiring wheelchair seating or who have impaired vision you may only book direct with the Derwent Entertainment Centre, and these requirements must be mentioned at the time of making the booking.

ATM - Automatic Teller Machines

ATMs are located beside the Box Office in the Blue Foyer. Report any faults to the Box Office Staff and request an ‘out of order’ sign be placed on the machine.

The Venue does not have access to or control over the ATM on site. If you experience faults (e.g. short-changed) please contact their bank. The bank will advise you to fill in a disputed transaction form, then investigates and arranges reimbursement.

Baby Change Room/Parenting Room

Two basic change table facilities are available in the accessible toilets in the green and red foyers.

Bag Checking Policy

Any person entering the Venue with a bag or package may be asked to consent to an inspection. Patrons refusing an inspection will be refused entry to the Venue as per the Conditions of Entry.

Binocular Hire

Binoculars are charged at $6.60 incl. GST. Patrons are required to leave a deposit of $50 or details of a credit card will be taken.

Availability depends on the event. Binocular Hire is generally available for concerts. Please direct enquiries to the Box Office.

Box Office

Located at the Derwent Entertainment Centre in the Blue Foyer.

The Box Office number is (03) 6251 3170.

The Box Office will open 2 hours before event start time.

Bus Parking

There are a number of parking spaces allocated for buses near the Green Car Park at the front of the Centre.

Companion Card

The Companion Card entitles the companion to free entry to a Venue when attending with the card holder. The card holder must pay the entry/booking fee.

Companion card tickets for DEC events can be purchased via phone on 1300 446 925.

The card holder is required to provided Companion Card number and expiry date when booking tickets through Ticketmaster.

To arrange a Companion Card call 1800 009 501.

Patrons are bound by the Conditions of Entry displayed at the Venue.

Corporate Suites

Derwent Entertainment Centre has 4 corporate suites located above Upper Circle 7, 8 & 9.

Ear Plugs

Ear plugs are available for sale to patrons at the Box Office counter.

Function Rooms

The DEC has many function rooms available for hire including the Astley Room and Seminar Suites.

Lost Property

Enquiry/drop off point for lost property is the Box Office located in Blue Foyer.

Lost Tickets

If your ticket is stolen or lost tickets please contact the Derwent Entertainment Centre (03) 6251 3170.

Tickets may be replaced with a Lost Ticket Pass which will act as a ticket for access into the Centre.

Mobility Impaired Access

Ramps in the Red and Green Foyers facilitate access to the arena floor.

Parking

There is ample parking for over 1200 cars available in Red, Blue and Green car parks surrounding the Venue.

Car Parking Attendants are on duty during large events to help facilitate the flow of traffic.

Public Transport

Metro are advised of all events at the Derwent Entertainment Centre and may or may not run direct bus services accordingly.

Seating Capacity

The total seated capacity of the Derwent Entertainment Centre is 5400 patrons.

Smoking Policy

The Derwent Entertainment Centre is a smoke free Venue. Smoking is not permitted in any part of the Venue.

Patrons who wish to smoke are required to exit the Venue and stand 3 metres away from doors. Liquor Licensing prohibits patrons from taking alcohol out of the Venue when they leave to smoke.

Tickets may be replaced with a Lost Ticket Pass which will act as a ticket for access into the Centre.

Ticketmaster is the contracted ticketing agency for Derwent Entertainment Centre. Methods of purchase include:

  • The Box Office will open 2 hours before event start time.
  • Phone Ticketmaster: 136 100

  • Tickets for wheelchair patrons can only be purchased over the phone on 1300 446 925.
  • All problems with tickets on event nights MUST be referred to the DEC Box Office which opens 2 hours before event start times.

  • Tickets may be replaced with a Lost Ticket Pass which will act as a ticket for access into the Centre.
Umbrella Policy

Umbrellas are permitted in the Venue however are not to be opened once inside the Venue.
