The high-flying Collingwood Magpies Netball team are swooping into Hobart for a practice match against Giants Netball in February 2018.
After suffering a heartbreaking one-goal defeat at the hands of the Giants in last year’s semi-final, the Magpies will be out to avenge the result when they come face to face with their opponents in Hobart.
This will be the Magpies’ first competitive hit-out in the Tasmanian capital, after playing the Queensland Firebirds in a Super Suncorp Netball (SSN) match at the Silverdome in Launceston last year.
At that fixture, crowds were enthralled by the fast-paced, entertaining performance by some of the Magpies’ big-time players, Sharni Layton, Ash Brazill and Kim Ravaillion.
With a jam-packed schedule pencilled in for February 9 – including a curtain-raiser match at 5pm before the Magpies and Giants take the court at 7pm – you won’t want to miss this night out at the netball at the Derwent Entertainment Centre.

Magpies Netball will be back in Tasmania during round six of the 2018 SSN season, when they face the Firebirds in a Launceston rematch.
In conjunction with Netball Tasmania and the Tasmanian Government, Magpies Netball is committed to supporting the growth and development of netball in Tasmania. Collingwood is also proud to field the Tasmanian Magpies in the Australian Netball League (ANL), providing an elite pathway for young netballers.
